Marketplace
Sell a card. Get paid when it arrives.

How it works
Three rules the marketplace is built around
Held, not sent
The buyer pays SlabX, never the seller directly. The money waits until the carrier reports delivery and a short window passes, then the seller is paid through Stripe. Blue in the app means held: neither a gain nor a loss yet.
Shipping is part of the order
Every listing says who pays shipping. The label is bought through SlabX either way, so tracking is attached to the order from the first scan, and orders above the insurance line ship insured for the full price.
You know who you are dealing with
Sellers set up payouts with Stripe before a listing goes live. Members who pass an ID check carry a blue Verified badge next to their name on every listing, profile, and post.
Payment protection
Every order moves through the same states
Both sides always see which state the order is in, who is waiting on whom, and what happens next.
Step 1: Listed
The seller sets a price and who pays shipping. The listing goes live once payouts are set up.
Step 2: Paid
The buyer pays SlabX on Stripe's checkout. The money is held, not sent to the seller.
Step 3: Label bought
A tracked label is bought through SlabX, so the tracking number belongs to the order from the start.
Step 4: In transit
The first carrier scan moves the order to shipped. Both sides see the same tracking.
Step 5: Delivered
The carrier confirms delivery and the 48 hour release window starts. The buyer can confirm sooner.
Step 6: Released
The seller's share transfers to their Stripe account. The order is complete.
Problem opened
Before release, the buyer can open a problem for non-receipt, an item not as described, or damage. Payment stays held while SlabX reviews the photos, the cert, and the tracking, and resolves it for one side.
Selling
Four steps from your collection to your bank
List from your collection
Open any item and tap Sell. The title, grader, grade, cert number, and photo carry over. Set a price and choose whether the buyer pays shipping or you do.
Set up payouts once
Stripe collects your identity and bank details on its own pages. SlabX never sees your account numbers. A ship-from address completes the setup.
Buy the label when it sells
One tap buys a tracked label from your address to the buyer's. Print it, pack the card, drop it off. Tracking updates the order on its own.
Get paid after delivery
When the carrier confirms delivery and the window passes, your share moves to your Stripe account, minus the seller fee and the label if you chose to cover shipping.
Buying
Four steps from a listing to your mailbox
Pick a listing
Every card shows the price, the grader and cert when there is one, whether shipping is included, and whether the seller is verified.
Enter an address, choose a rate
If the buyer pays shipping, live carrier rates appear for your address and the exact rate you pick is the line on your receipt.
Pay on Stripe's checkout
Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. SlabX never sees or stores a card number. The item price, the buyer fee, and any shipping are itemized before you pay.
Confirm, or open a problem
Tracking lives on the order. Once it is delivered you can release payment early or, within the window, open a problem for non-receipt, not as described, or damage. Payment stays held while we look.
Fees and shipping
Itemized before anyone pays
These are the live numbers the checkout uses. They change only for new orders, with notice here.
| Line | Who | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer protection fee | Buyer, added at checkout | $5.00 |
| Seller fee | Seller, taken at release | $5.00 plus 3% of the price |
| Shipping label | Whoever the listing says; live carrier rate, no markup | carrier rate |
| Insurance | Included in the label on orders at or above the line | from $100.00 |
| Signature on delivery | Required on orders at or above the line | from $500.00 |
| Release window | After the carrier confirms delivery, unless the buyer confirms sooner | 48 hours |
Payments run on Stripe. Sellers are paid to their own Stripe Express account under Stripe's connected account agreement; SlabX does not hold seller funds after release. Shipping is within the United States for now.
Verified members
The blue badge
Any member can verify their identity at any time, before they ever buy or sell. Stripe checks a government ID and a matching selfie on its own pages; SlabX stores only whether it passed and the date. The badge then shows next to that member's name on listings, profiles, and community posts.
Verified
- Driver's licence, passport, or ID card, captured live, with a selfie that must match.
- The documents stay with Stripe. SlabX never receives them.
- The badge cannot be hidden, and it is removed if a verification is withdrawn or found to be fraudulent.
- It means the person matched a government ID. It is not a rating of their items or prices.
Where to verify
On the web: SlabX Web, Settings, Identity. In the app: Settings, Identity verification. It takes a few minutes and the badge appears on its own.
For card shops
A storefront on SlabX, with the same protection on every order
Card shops sell alongside collectors. A shop gets its own page, its name on every listing, stock quantities so one listing can sell many times, and business payout onboarding through Stripe. SlabX approves each shop by hand before it goes live.
Your name on every card
Buyers see the shop name and a link to your storefront on each listing, next to the Verified badge if you have one.
Stock, not one-offs
Set a quantity when you list. Each order takes one unit and the listing sells out at zero. Sold counts stay on the record.
Your policies, on top of ours
Handling time and returns show on your storefront and on each order. Payment holding, tracked labels, insurance, and the dispute window still apply.
Shops apply from their SlabX account at Sell as a shop. The shop's seller fee is the same as everyone's unless SlabX agrees otherwise in writing.
Next
Card for card, plus the difference
The marketplace opens with fixed-price listings. Trades, where you put your cards against theirs and add cash on either side to balance it, run on the same order, label, and release rules and are the next step. The Registry, a shared history keyed by grader and cert number, stays in design.
Questions: FAQ or support. The full rules are in the terms, section 6.
